Combined passions for illustration and higher education inspired Weston to start his own medical media studio, Chromatin Creative.
Weston earned a Bachelor of Fine Art in Biomedical Art from the Cleveland Institute of Art and a Master of Science in Medical Illustration (MSMI) from Augusta University. His extensive art background includes traditional figure drawing, digital illustration techniques and communication design. In addition, Weston spent hundreds of hours studying and sketching in hospital operating rooms as well as cadaver dissection labs, all the while enrolled in medical school curricula.
Over the course of his career, Weston has collaborated with experts from a variety of institutions including the Cleveland Clinic, Medical University of South Carolina, University Hospital and Cleveland Natural History Museum. Weston has also contributed his skills to larger medical illustration teams at companies such as Amicus Visual Solutions (a medical legal visuals firm) and UWorld (a medical licensing exam-prep company). Currently, Weston is employed as a medical illustrator and project manager by Osso VR, a leading virtual reality surgical training platform.
